Honorary Doctorate Degree for Obbo Muktar Kedir?

Honorary Doctorate Degree for Muktar Kedir, the president of Oromia Regional State and the Chairman of OPDO?As far as we know, honorary doctorate degree is awarded to an individual for achievement in specfic field or contribution to society in general.

I haven’t exactly understood on what ground the honoring institution, the ‪#‎Kyungwoon‬ University of South Korea awarded the degree to this man?We, the people, whom he governs hasn’t seen any special achievement of this loyal partyman of EPRDF? Is it based on the manipulated reports of economic, political and social success of the rulers of the regional state?Or is it based an individual’s application for the degree whereby the honoring institution looks at the information filled out and decide in the university senate meeting whether that person deserves an honorary degree or not? We need to know.

My question is what are the achievements and contributions of obbo Muktar to Ethiopian society in general and to the Oromo people in particular? On my part, I have never thought that honorary doctorate degree would be given to an individual with little or no contributions to a society, but now the #Kyungwoon University has effectively taught me that if you are a political leader, whether you do good or bad, you can get an honorary degree. Are the higher academic institutions selling out honorary degrees to people who can buy it?
