MY EXPRIENCES AT ETHIOPIAN INVESTIGATION CENTER:MAIKELAWI

Chala Hailu Abdata is an Oromo poet and author  and he currently lives in Sweden. He left Ethiopia to escape persecution by the Ethiopian government. He was a fifth year Law student at Adama University, but he was imprisoned on a number of occasions because of his writings on the Oromo issues.

He was taken to Crime Investigation center in Addis Abeba called Maikelawi where he had to go through a lot of pains and agonies as the investigators tortured him, denied him food and water, threatened to kill him unless he confessed that he committed a crime.
